They monitor and help firms, much like Haggards Crowther, to sustain and develop the quality and integrity of the finance and accountancy profession. All member firms, including Haggards, are required to have professional indemnity insurance, and a complaints procedure to help resolve any issues you may have with the services of a member firm.

The Chartered Institute of Taxation ("CIOT"), is the UK’s leading professional body in taxation. Its primary purpose is to promote the practice of taxation, and its 14,300 members have the practicing title of ‘Chartered Tax Adviser’. The Institute was established in 1930 and received its Royal Charter in 1994. It enjoys a high international standing in taxation affairs and is a UK member body on the Confédération Fiscale Européenne (CFE), the umbrella body for 150,000 tax advisers in Europe.

I met with a number of local accountants before appointing Haggards and none of them brought to my attention the complex variety tax strategies that Peter was talking about. He made it sound so simple and I felt assured that my tax affairs were safely in his hands. Four years on and I am still impressed with his knowledge and professionalism.
