A START UP WITH BIG PLANS
The client came to us in early 2013 with a plan for a new business. He had a well- developed business plan, interested investors and a route to market.
IN ADDITION TO THE SERVICES LISTED IN CASE STUDY 1, WE:
- Assisted in the appointment of the in-house Financial Controller that replaced us, including the interview of potential candidates.
- Ensured that there was a smooth transition.

This client joined us in 2006. When he came to us, his limited company accounts were two years behind, as were his personal tax returns. We threw resources at the problem and had everything straightened out within a month. Our fees were also lower than those our predecessor. Better financial control was a factor in this business growing. The company is became VAT registered and records were maintained on bookkeeping software in our offices. We prepared the VAT returns for the company, and submitted them online on their behalf. With good records maintained in our offices, the year-end accounts and Corporation Tax Return were completed with very little input from the client in an organized and controlled way. We had been able to structure the owner’s drawings from the business such that he is yet to pay personal tax.
